Jason Dixson Photography specializes in corporate event photography, professional headshots, and videography for mission-driven organizations — We don't do weddings, family portraits, and other personal client work. Our mission is to help impactful organizations to make an even bigger difference. Our clients include some of the biggest corporations, non-profits, and associations in the Washington, DC area. Our clients expect the best and we are looking for the best: Someone who is adaptable, eager to learn, and excited by the prospect of photographing and filming some of the biggest names and organizations in the country.


• This is a part-time contractor position.

• While we are looking for a candidate capable of photography and videography, we will consider applicants with strengths in one over the other (describe your strengths/weaknesses in your application)

Who We're Looking For:

The candidate must be located in the Washington, DC area. Work may take you to other cities across the country (transportation will be covered). 

We are seeking a skilled and adaptable photographer/videographer in Washington, DC for our expanding client needs. The main duties of this position include:

• Photographing live corporate events ranging from 2 hours to several days in length (some days are 12+ hours) * Capturing professional headshots and environmental portraits

• Transporting and setting up headshot equipment

• Delivery of raw files to production team via internet for editing

• Client interfacing in professional environments (formal attire required)

• Constant learning and adaptation to unfamiliar environments 

Necessary Photography Skills Include:

• A minimum of 2 years experience in indoor and low light event photography (portfolio for review required)

• Experience using studio strobes or flashes for professional headshots or portraits (portfolio for review required)

• Knowledge of Canon DSLR systems

• Expertise in Adobe Lightroom (knowledge of Photoshop is a bonus)

• An ability to adapt to technology solutions include Dropbox, Smugmug, Asana, Slack

• Professional verbal and written communication with clients in corporate environments (professional dress is a must)

• Native user of Apple computers and Mac OS X  While photography is our primary business, candidates with proficiency in videography as well as photography will be given preference.

Necessary videography skills include:

• A minimum of 2 years experience filming in any of the following categories: Corporate events, documentaries, interviews, b-roll, or live event speakers on stage (portfolio for review required)

• Experience with lav mics and sound balancing for live events and interviews

• Experience with filming using a DSLR and gimbal such as a Ronin-S

• Expertise in Adobe Premiere

• Experience editing footage into 2 to 5 minute highlight reels

• Expertise color grading video footage

• Compensation during training period will be commensurate with experience

• Once training is complete, compensation for shooting/filming is $45 per hour
